Tasks

The main tasks for obtaining the vertex detector performance are going to be performed using the ILC framework. As a measure for the performance we are going to use the residual distribuitions of the simulated vertex to the reconstructed vertex. This is going to be done with three methods.

  • Muons from a particle gun. With this method we can examine selected areas of interest e.g. overlap regions or switcher boards
  • J/Psi decay to mu/mu. This is going to be our tool for examining the z-vertex resolution because the boosted J/Psis do not always have their vertex at the IP
  • B0 and B+- decays without background

Main optimization parameters

  • Bricked x non-bricked pixel structure (B x NB)
  • 2nd layer with silicon support structure 1cm x 0.5cm
  • Variable pixel size x constant pixel size (VPS x CPS)
  • 1000 pixels along Z-axis x 800 pixels along Z-axis (PPR) @ integration time 10 us
  • 2000 pixels along Z-axis x 1600 pixels along Z-axis (PPR) @ integration time 20 us (B structure only)
  • Belle SVD2 x SBelle x SBelle upgrade

All other parameters can be modified later on in Marlin analysis ...
